This was my last official duty before the AGM.The guys are looking to reform Livingston Table and myself and someof the guys from Area 51 went along to support the night. Lt was well structured and was aninformative night for the guys who were looking to be involved. This took shape in the for m of two presentations and an open floor discussion. It is up to us all now to support this campaign and make sure these guys get all the support needed to make this a success and bring Table back to Livingston.

Sat 11/04/2009 - Area 51 Ball @ Castlecary Hotel

The Ball went ahead and a great night was had by all who attended. The guys from Alloa kept us all entertained with a chorus of 'Congratulations' after every raffle prize and with the genorousity of pffering to redraw the near empty bottle of whisky (which they had drunk) at the raffle. The band kindly donated some of their money to the charity (CHAS) and every body seemed to be thoroughly entertained. Watch out for next years< Graham has a plan!!!

We were entertained by a speaker on Autisim which was very informative. The guys had helped the organisation out in the past when they erected some garden sheds and during the presentation they were more surpised to find them still standing. After the speaker an excellant meeting with lots of open discussion was managed magnificently bt Andrew. Well done !

Fri 20/3/2009 - 40th Charter Dinner @ Larbert Round Table

Great night with some fantastic speakers. The guys had really gone out for entertainment even down to the magician during dinner. With the fantastic hospitality the night was superb. My driver (Lindsay) and I did try to swipe the Charter however some eagle eyed Tablers caught us but they will need to be sharper eyed for the 40th.

From the moment of my arrival I can only heap praise for the hospitality shown towards me. This was a more relaxing dinner for me and thoroughly enjoyed the humour and chat at Top Table. Sharing a table with John Spence, who I heard speak up in Skye 3 years ago, for me was just fantastic as he is inspirational to our cause. Another highlight for me was when Len Harveys efforts towards Round Table and his genuine look of surprise on his face. Brilliant night lads well done and hope to see you at Larbert.

Fri 06/03/2009 - 50th Charter Dinner @ Airdrie and District RT

Guys a great night was had by all the 140 guests at the event who were entertained by Noel McLean, Sue Roberts and Gary Moir, all truly superb. As a member of ADRT, I had been invited to participate in the evening and I was honoured to do so, even minding my P's and Q's throughout - mum would have been pleased. It was nice to see so many Tables from within the Area there to join in the fun, if only the guy from Lanark had held the clanger as ran off with the bell and not drew attention to himself he might have made it to the door.

Visiting Larbert was the last visit before the Area event on the 23/2 and as the guys had muted little interest I thought I was in for a hiding. However, much to my surprise they listened and were very responsive to the idea and volunterred 10 bodies to attend the 'Evening With John Gahagan'. The guys from Larbert had shown concern about their future numbers in the years to come and a healthy discussion took place on the importance of a good programme to bring the members out on Tabling nights. For a Table who have not really been involved with Area, the guys in my opinion, have really warmed to Area and this can only be good for the future as we try to unite Tables behind Area 51.
